Written by Dr. & Mrs. Keith Gomez @ 5:30PM

At this time the doctors are performing a treatment for the pneumonia. They are trying to remove the fluid from Josh’s lungs, using a mechanism on his respirator. It causes Josh to breathe very fast to try to get the fluid to surface. We need to pray that this procedure will be successful. As long as Josh shows he is progressing on the respirator while the settings are reduced, the doctors would rather not do the trach.

Josh is acknowledging people around him with his left eye. We believe Josh recognizes family and friends in his room. He is responding by shaking his head ‘yes’ and ‘no.’ We are unsure if he can speak, due to the tube down his throat. His left side is responding; however, he has some tremors on his right side.

Mrs. Gomez and I want to thank every one of you for your love notes and your responses on the Caring Bridge guest book. We read every entry. We appreciate your care and your love for us.

Continue to pray. We have a long way to go.
