My dear friends,
Continue to hold Josh up in fervent prayer. He is more alert
now than ever. He is responding to our questions and he told me yesterday that
he understood everything I was saying to him. However, there is an infection in
his body and the doctors cannot pinpoint it. They do not know if it is from his
lungs, the cranial area, or his sinuses. There is a lot of blood still in the
sinus area because of the multiple fractures. The doctors are limiting
visitors. Josh is in an isolation situation because their biggest fight right
now is to prevent him from catching something which could set him way back.
Please pray that they will find what this infection is. Atrophy is prevalent as
muscle tone is deteriorating because of being on his back for 17 days. Continue
to pray that the ventilator would be removed from his throat and that he would
be able to be free of the respirator.
Thank you for the hundreds of cards, letters and phone
calls. The Caring
Bridge website has been
hit 10,000 times, which is phenomenal. To you who may want to log on, scroll down
from this update to the www.caringbridge.org link, click on that. Then scroll
down to the Guestbook and click on “visit guestbook.” It would be a blessing if you would sign in
and jot a note of encouragement to Josh. He will certainly enjoy reading all of
these notes once he is able.
Thank you again for all of your encouragement to us.
Yours, for Christ’s sake,
Dr. & Mrs. Keith & Carla Gomez
