Josh has survived the first 48 hours, which was a critical time period, and it is an absolute miracle...
First, that he is not just alive, but there are encouraging signs that he is hearing, understanding, and processing conversation and actions, with some thumbs up and thumbs down responses.
His head is literally full of hundreds of titanium screws and plates from the recent reconstructive skull surgery, which has also restored a shape that now resembles a head rather than a smashed watermelon.
A major concern yet are his lungs – that no pneumonia nor infection sets in to complicate or otherwise endanger his improving condition. Thank you for the expressions of support and encouragement, but most of all for the prayers of literally thousands and thousands of people across the country.
