Josh continues to do well. He is very excited about getting
home in the next few days. Anyone who is familiar with brain injuries will
understand that many times, they will shock you with what they know and what
they can do; and yet, at times the most menial of tasks seem to be very
difficult.
I trust that you will continue to pray and hold him up as he
continues on this long road to recovery. Shawn and Amy Walker came up to visit.
Josh was so excited to see them. He began to weep again as he thinks of all the
people that love him and pray for him. He keeps saying it is absolutely
overwhelming to him. He was so touched to know that children are praying for
him and how much they love him also.
One of Josh’s old friends, Paul Grady, called him and chatted
with both Josh and me. Paul did a wonderful thing by calling around to find an
outfitter that donates hunts to disabled hunters. The hunt that has been
donated for Josh will be a wild boar hunt in the great state of Tennessee! So this is a
goal for Josh as he continues his therapy to be able to go on this hunt in
about a year from now and shoot a huge wild boar! I want to thank Paul for
working so hard on this to get that done for Josh.
Things continue to go as planned thus far. His therapy is
going quite well although there are some things that we must continue to work
on for the next year. Please pray concerning his somewhat “sleepy” bladder,
which isn’t emptying as the doctors would prefer. Josh is very tired of the
catheter, so please pray that his bodily functions would take over as normal. Other
than that things seem to be healing up well. Again, his neck and back hurt him
so much that we will have to get all that straightened out when we get back
home. There are various doctors that I know that could help him in that area.
Thank you so very much to all the folks who’ve sent kind
letters and notes as well as the love that you have showered upon us in this
trying time. Please be faithful where God has put you and know that the Lord
will do great things here and will do great things for anyone who will only
ask! Thank God that He answers our petitions
of prayer that we bring to Him with earnest hearts. I trust that all of you
will have a wonderful Sunday and that God will crown your place with souls
saved and people baptized. We love each
and every one of you.
