Written by Dr. Keith Gomez @ 10:00PM

Mrs. Gomez had a very rough night last night. It was so hard for me to hear my sweetheart be in such a state of misery. I was able to finally drift off to sleep around 7:00 a.m. for about an hour. Once she was awake for awhile this morning, she seemed to do a little better.

The college students from Providence Baptist College came on buses at noon and passed by her bedroom door to express their love for her. They all wanted her to know how very much they love her, and of course, Carla was her gracious self as she greeted and loved on the students as they passed by. Dr. and Mrs. DeWayne Nichols also came to say hello. He had just finished teaching a module at the college. Mrs. Gomez was delighted to see them both and spend some time with them. Dr. Roy Moffitt and Dr. Bob Auclair drove over from Hammond, Indiana to see her for a few moments this morning also. She rested for much of the afternoon in between short visits from my sisters, her mom, the children and Dr. Mike Hall and his family.

This evening we have had many church members who have stopped by to say hello and express their love to Mrs. Gomez. We have asked that anyone who visits her please refrain from wearing cologne or perfumes. She has struggled a bit with different smells.

It has been such a blessing to us to have had so many pastors drive in or fly in to see her. Mrs. Gomez was so thrilled to be able to see Dr. & Mrs. Bob Smith, who we were both saved under. It just amazes me to see so many pastors who have or will be taking time from their schedules to come see this precious wife of mine…Dr. Terry Anglea, Dr. Cecil Ballard, Dr. Randy Taylor, Dr. Andy Edwards, Dr. Bill Grady, Pastor Steve Meister, Pastor  Chris Shurilla, Pastor Chris Huff, Pastor Tim Booth, Pastor Jon Booth and Pastor Seth Hixon to name a few.

Thank you to the many folks who have sent the beautiful flowers and gift baskets. There are so many they have been placed all along the entryway, the hallway and in every room. Mrs. Gomez is so excited to see each bouquet and gift and she is very thankful to each one of you who sent them.

The Lord has been very good to this family and to Northwest Bible Baptist Church. He has given us so much to be thankful for. I cannot begin to express my gratitude and love to all of you. May God bless each of you for your love, prayers and support for us and to our church family.
